WHITLEY BAY ICE RINK was built more than 60 years ago with the idea that we can provide a fun and unusual fitness activity for families to enjoy all year round. Come and have a fun day out and go Ice Skating or come to watch one of our thrilling ICE HOCKEY MATCHES. We have FREE ONSITE parking for all our customers. We are the most established ICE RINK in the country and have hosted many Olympic stars and in the past many concerts! So whether you’re an experienced figure skater, Ice Hockey player or total beginner get your skates on and enjoy an unforgettable experience with friends and family at WHITLEY BAY ICE RINK!
We have also just opened our brand new Events Suite! So if you have an event to host whether it’s your 21st, team training day or Hen Party we can host you. After all we’re known for providing people with a good time!

Learn To Skate
Whitley Bay Ice Rink offers a course for everyone wanting to learn to skate.
This is achieved through our various group tuition classes, run throughout the year for figure, and hockey skaters. Those eager to advance even further may wish to try a few individual lessons with our qualified instructors.
British and World Champions started at Whitley Bay.
The Rink has provided the National Hockey Teams with players at both Junior and Senior levels.
